изотропной, диэлектрической среды с линейным затуханием описывается выражением:
где e0 - диэлектрическая проницаемость вакуума равна 8,854 · 10-12 Ф/м (диэлектрическая постоянная);
e - комплексная диэлектрическая проницаемость, Ф/м;
er - комплексная относительная диэлектрическая проницаемость;
- вещественная часть комплексной относительной диэлектрической проницаемости (также называемая диэлектрической постоянной);
- мнимая часть комплексной относительной диэлектрической проницаемости (коэффициент диэлектрических потерь), отражающая диэлектрические потери;
s - проводимость, См/м;
ω - угловая частота, рад/с;
tgδ - тангенс угла потерь.
